Narvan Maatilamajoitus

Helena's Chickens and Chambers

Welcome to our family-run, working mother cow farm where we offer comfortable accommodation either with a hearty farmhouse breakfast or on self-catering basis. Our organic farm is located in rural Vesilahti, in village of Narva, where we specialise in mother cows and calves and forestry.

You may see some of our chickens roam freely around the farmyard as we have a small henhouse. In the nearby pasture, you can also see our mother cows with their calves.

If you wish to experience farm life closer up, we offer accommodation packages which include fun farm experiences such as seeing our clever chickens performing tricks, visiting the cow shed and having a guided tour of historic farm buildings dating from the 1800s and our own granary museum.

Our farm has a long history as it was already being mentioned in maps during the 16th century and has been run by the same family since 1865. During your stay, you can learn more about the history and life of the old family farm. The old cow shed with its impressive, almost 2 m thick stone walls, was built in the 1880s, and still stands proudly in the farmyard.

We are located approximately 40 km from Tampere in the small village of Narva in Vesilahti area. The village services are located nearby and Laukko Manor house, which offers visitors concert, exhibition and restaurant services, is located 5 km from our farm. There is a frequent bus service to/from Tampere on weekdays.

We are ideally placed for cycling the circular Pyhä Lake Trail, at the half-way point from Tampere.
